Big Sky Capital, in partnership with Malaysia’s venture program GUIDE and supported by Kazakhstan’s innovation agency Astana Hub, has concluded a two-month SEA Enterprise Technology Launchpad program for B2B enterprise and industrial technology startups from Central Asia.

In a statement on Monday, Guide said the event culminated in a demo day hosted by Gobi Partners at Jelawang Capital’s Kuala Lumpur office. The showcase drew representatives from PETRONAS, Alibaba Cloud, and PT Gunung Samudera Internasional, one of Indonesia’s largest mining companies.

The five startups in the first cohort were Rock Rigid, which provides AI-powered production optimization for the oil and gas industry; BEST Vision, which develops computer vision technology for workplace safety and industrial monitoring; Onay Oqu, a digital education platform using AI to personalise learning; RoadOne AI, which applies AI to fleet management and fuel fraud reduction; and TASS Vision, a computer vision retail analytics company that presented virtually.

The program is part of a broader initiative by Astana Hub, Big Sky Capital, and GUIDE to establish a SEA-Central Asia Innovation Hub based in Malaysia, positioning the country as an entry point for enterprise and industrial technologies entering Southeast Asia.

Tanat Uskembayev, Co-CEO of Astana Hub, said the organization provides incentives, resources, and programmes to help entrepreneurs scale both locally and internationally.

Adil Nurgozhin, Managing Partner of Big Sky Capital, said Central Asia has produced several homegrown unicorns in recent years and holds growing potential as a source of globally competitive technology companies.

Neil Cheong of GUIDE said the launchpad plays an important role in fostering international collaboration between startups and corporate and opening opportunities for technology commercialization across Asia.
