The United States-based EXCEL Services Corporation has established EXCEL Services Vietnam, a new subsidiary supporting Vietnam’s nuclear power development.

In a statement on Tuesday, EXCEL Services said the Vietnamese subsidiary has offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The company has signed memoranda of understanding with the ministry-run National Innovation Center (NIC) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. EXCEL Services is planning cooperation with government agencies and corporate partners, according to the statement.

James Voss, Vice President of EXCEL Services Corporation, is the General Director of EXCEL Services Vietnam.

Donald Hoffman, President and CEO of EXCEL Services, said Vietnam has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing nuclear power as an electricity generation source. EXCEL is willing support the country’s efforts to establish safe and effective nuclear power operations, the executive added.

At a forum in May with the NIC, James Voss said EXCEL Services is researching and developing next-generation energy solutions including small modular reactor (SMR) models and integrated energy systems to meet the continuous operational needs of high-technology industries. EXCEL Services can cooperate with Vietnam in deploying solutions suited to local conditions, alongside gradual technology and operational knowledge transfer, he added.

EXCEL Services Corporation is a US-based company providing nuclear development support across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
