Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) announced that it has withdrawn support for the Malaysia Blockchain Week 2026.

This followed criticisms over promotional materials for the event’s after-party, which featured DJ and influencer Ms Pui Yi, a former OnlyFans content creator.

In a Linkedin post on Monday, MDEC said The Ministry of Digital and the agency are not involved in the planning, approval, or promotion of the Malaysia Blockchain Week 2026 after-party, including the selection of its guests.

“MDEC has withdrawn its support for Malaysia Blockchain Week 2026 and has directed the organisers to remove all materials bearing the name, logo, or image of the Ministry of Digital, MDEC, and the Minister of Digital,” the agency wrote.

“Any claims that the Ministry of Digital or MDEC approved, endorsed, or are associated with the said after-party are untrue,” MDEC said, adding that the organisers themselves have confirmed this in their earlier statement.

Meanwhile in a statement, the organizer of Malaysia Blockchain Week 2026 has apologized to Ministry of Digital, MDEC, its patners, sponsors and stakeholders.

“We sincerely apologise for the concern caused and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the professionalism, integrity and values expected of Malaysia Blockchain Week,” the committee wrote.

The organisers also clarified that the Ministry of Digital and MDEC “were not consulted on, involved in, or associated with the selection of the featured individual, or the organisation and promotion of the after-party.”
