ST Telemedia Global Data Centers (STT GDC) has on Tuesday announced a partnership with Alibaba Cloud and Tech Talent Assembly, an affiliated association under the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to accelerate the adoption of generative and agentic artificial intelligence (AI) across Singapore’s enterprises and workforce.
The initiative will support up to 1,000 enterprises, developers and students with access to advanced AI tools, structured training and practical implementation support to enable real-world deployment, STT GDC said in a statement.
The partnership responds to a growing need to translate strong interest in AI into practical application.
As businesses across sectors explore AI to improve productivity, decision-making and competitiveness, the partnership aims to lower barriers to adoption by combining access to technology with hands-on implementation support and workforce training.
“This reflects a growing effort by partners to work with the Labour Movement to better support workers, including youths and PMEs, with the skills, guidance and confidence to take on opportunities in the AI economy,
“Through NTUC’s AI‑Ready SG initiative, we will continue working closely with our partners to pool resources and strengthen impact on the ground, so that workers receive tailored guidance and support every step of the way,” said Desmond Tan Kok Ming, Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office of Singapore and the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress.
The partnership was announced at the Qwen Conference 2026 in Singapore.
Through the partnership, STT GDC is collaborating with Alibaba Cloud and TTAB to make enterprise-grade generative and agentic AI tools more accessible to participating businesses, developers and students.
The initiative is designed to help organizations move from early experimentation to practical deployment by combining access to tools with structured implementation support, readiness insights and workforce training.
Participants will be supported in applying AI across business functions, from operations and software development to knowledge work and customer engagement.
It is noted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often face resource and capability constraints when adopting AI.
The partnership aims to address these gaps by providing access to tools, training and implementation support tailored to practical business needs.
The initiative also places strong emphasis on workforce readiness and inclusion, aligned with Singapore’s broader AI and workforce transformation priorities.
Working with NTUC and its affiliated ecosystem, it will support workers — particularly those in SMEs and mid-career roles — in building practical AI skills and confidence in applying these tools at work.
The broader ambition is to help shift sentiment from AI anxiety to AI agency, enabling more workers to view AI as a source of resilience, capability and opportunity, said the statement.
“AI adoption is increasingly a competitiveness issue for businesses in Singapore, yet many organizations still need support to translate interest into implementation,
“At STT GDC, our role extends beyond providing trusted digital infrastructure — we are focused on enabling broader access, stronger collaboration and practical adoption across the economy,” said Lim Mingcheng, Country Head – Singapore, ST Telemedia Global Data Centers.
“Through this partnership, we are bringing together technology, implementation support and workforce enablement to help more organizations and individuals apply AI with confidence and in ways that deliver real impact,” he added.
Meanwhile, Andy Lee, General Manager of Singapore and Thailand, Alibaba Cloud, said at Alibaba Cloud, they believe that AI is a transformative force that should be accessible to everyone.
“By partnering with NTUC and STT GDC, we are committed to lowering the barrier to entry for Singapore’s SMEs and students,
“Our goal is to equip them with the practical skills and agentic AI tools they need to innovate, stay competitive, embrace agentic AI in their daily work,” he added.
