Singapore technology giant Sea Ltd and OpenAI will launch the Sea x OpenAI Codex Hackathon in Singapore on June 6, 2026, marking the start of a regional hackathon series across the Asia-Pacific region.

In a statement on Monday, Sea said the one-day event will bring together AI developers and engineers from across APAC to build new AI-driven products using coding agents such as Codex. The hackathon will be limited to 40 teams.

Singapore will serve as the first stop in the regional series, with the event focused on experienced builders working on advanced AI applications and autonomous systems.

According to the organizers, participants will develop projects across three main categories: Autonomous and adaptive AI, AI-native products and operations, Deep domain AI.

Winning teams will receive OpenAI API credits, with first place awarded $30,000 in credits, second place receiving $15,000, and third place receiving $5,000. Members of the top five teams will also receive 12 months of ChatGPT Pro access.

Registration for the event will remain open until May 28, 2026.
