Danantara Indonesia has announced the establishment of PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (PT Denera), an integrated waste management company designed to serve as the holding entity for all Waste-to-Energy (WtE) or Pengolahan Sampah menjadi Energi Listrik (PSEL) project implementation across the country.
PT Denera was officially established on April 1, Danantara Indonesia said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) has established PT Denera as a holding entity that consolidates all investment, development, and operational activities related to WtE projects across Indonesia.
Under this structure, PT Denera will serve as the holding company for each Badan Usaha Pengembang dan Pengelola (BUPP) WtE, with each BUPP formed as a joint entity between PT Denera and selected consortium partners.
Through this framework, Danantara Indonesia aims to enhance project management efficiency, attract broader participation from domestic and global investors, and promote technology transfer in an integrated waste management.
“The establishment of PT Denera reflects Danantara Indonesia’s commitment to building a strong and transparent institutional framework for an integrated waste management in Indonesia,
“With a dedicated holding structure, we can ensure that operational standards, investment governance, and coordination with domestic and international partners are managed more eYectively and with greater accountability,” said Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia.
The formation of PT Denera is aligned with the mandate of Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025 regarding the management of urban waste through the conversion of waste into renewable energy based on environmentally friendly technology, as well as the Indonesian government’s vision of building cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable cities.
Danantara Indonesia’s WtE program targets the development of waste-to-electricity facilities in several cities across Indonesia.
“With PT Denera, we are creating a structured, highly competitive investment platform,
“PT Denera also acts as the catalyst for integrated and upstream waste management that manages various types of waste,” Pandu added.
Danantara Indonesia said it remains committed to advancing integrated waste management solutions, creating long-term environmental and social value for communities across Indonesia.
