Rosella, an AI-native commercial insurance brokerage, has raised A$3.7 million ($2.56 million) in pre-seed funding led by Southeast Asia-focused Peak XV Partners and Intact Private Capital.
In a release on Thursday, Rosella said is developing an AI-native platform aimed at streamlining insurance workflows and improving service delivery for small and mid-sized businesses. Its system is designed to automate operational tasks while allowing brokers to focus on client relationships, risk assessment, and sales.
The U.S. commercial insurance brokerage market, valued at $215 billion, remains heavily reliant on manual processes. Tasks such as submissions, policy comparisons, and servicing are often handled across fragmented systems, contributing to slower response times and inconsistent service.
Rosella is targeting several persistent challenges in the industry. These include time-intensive workflows that require brokers to repeatedly input the same information across multiple carrier systems, the complexity of comparing lengthy insurance policies, and variations in service levels across different client segments. The company is launching tools intended to automate routine processes.
The company is initially focusing on small and mid-market businesses in industries such as construction, manufacturing, and logistics, which often require customized insurance coverage but may be underserved due to operational constraints.
