Taiwan-based Fitipower Integrated Technology Inc., an integrated circuit (IC) design company, has established its presence in Malaysia.
The Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) said in a statement on Wednesday Fitipower Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. will focus on semiconductor IC design-related research and development, particularly in Display Driver IC (DDIC), Power Management IC (PMIC) technologies and Edge AI SoC.
By leveraging regional technological resources, the company aims to accelerate product innovation and expand its global market presence while creating long-term value for customers and shareholders.
Chairman Young Lin of Fitipower Integrated Technology Inc. shared that Malaysia’s strong engineering talent pool, growing semiconductor ecosystem, and supportive government initiatives made it a strategic location for the company’s overseas research and development (R&D) expansion.
The company has officially commenced operations at the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park in Puchong, an initiative spearheaded by Sidec to position Selangor as a regional hub for IC design and semiconductor innovation.
The establishment of Fitipower Malaysia reinforces the growing momentum of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park, which serves as a strategic platform to attract global IC design companies, nurture local talent, and accelerate Malaysia’s transition into higher-value semiconductor activities, said the statement.
Following the launch ceremony on Wednesday, Sidec also engaged in discussions with Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Council Member for Investment, Trade and Mobility, and Fitipower executives to explore future collaborations in semiconductor talent development, industry partnerships, and technology innovation initiatives.
