LC Wakaful Digital Sdn Bhd (LCWD), a wholly owned subsidiary of Gobarakah Tech Sdn Bhd, announced Thursday the official launch of Impakrintas, Malaysia’s first Social Exchange platform, following the Securities Commission Malaysia’s (SC) announcement on LCWD’s appointment as the inaugural Social Exchange Platform operator on February 12.

Now live at www.impakrintas.com, the platform combines digital technology and community participation within a regulated environment to reshape how non-profit organizations (NPOs) raise funds and demonstrate impact, the firm said in a statement.

Positioned at the intersection of regulatory innovation and social technology, Impakrintas is designed to elevate transparency, strengthen donor confidence, and create a structured marketplace for social impact projects fundraising in Malaysia.

Unlike traditional donation platforms, Impakrintas is built on a unique framework that integrates regulatory oversight, structured disclosures, and active community engagement.

The result is a new experience for both NPOs and donors — one that balances accessibility with governance, and participation with accountability.

The platform facilitates direct cash donations from donors to approved NPOs under subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967 for listed social impact projects relevant to social welfare, cultural preservation and heritage, or environmental sustainability and conservation that are carried out in Malaysia.

Individual and corporate donors can support the listed social impact projects with greater confidence through a platform designed to enhance monitoring, reporting, and transparency.

Impakrintas offers a comprehensive suite of services aimed at strengthening the charitable sector: screening and onboarding of NPOs; secure technology infrastructure for project listings; transparency, reporting, and monitoring tools; corporate donor acquisition and engagement support; ongoing governance and compliance monitoring.

By combining regulatory discipline with digital innovation, the platform seeks to raise standards across Malaysia’s NPO ecosystem while unlocking new pathways for responsible social participation.

Firdaus Mohamed, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gobarakah Tech Sdn Bhd and Chief Executive Officer of LC Wakaful Digital Sdn Bhd, described Impakrintas as a transformative milestone.

According to him, Impakrintas is a game changer for Malaysia’s social impact ecosystem.

“For the first time, we are bringing together regulatory structure, technology infrastructure, and community participation into a single platform — creating a trusted environment where eligible projects can scale sustainably,” he said.

He also said this initiative complements their long-term goal of leading the charitable sector through technology.

“By embedding governance, disclosures, and transparency into the fundraising journey, we are helping the sector move beyond traditional models toward measurable outcomes and stronger accountability,” he noted.

He added the framework enables them to champion credible social initiatives and provide donors with a higher level of confidence when supporting meaningful causes.

It is noted that Impakrintas introduces a compliance-led approach that prioritizes donor protection and sector integrity while maintaining accessibility for everyday participation.

Through structured disclosures, ongoing monitoring, and technology-enabled reporting, the platform aims to create a more transparent and resilient ecosystem for giving.

The social exchange initiative is expected to broaden participation in social finance and encourage stronger governance practices across Malaysia’s charitable landscape — aligning social impact funding more closely with capital market standards.
