AirAsia MOVE (MOVE), a Malaysia-based travel booking app, has secured strategic partnerships with Ethiopian Airlines, Vietjet Air and Garuda Indonesia.
The firm said in a statement on Wednesday that the addition of these major carriers further solidifies the firm’s position as the region’s leading homegrown online travel agent (OTA).
With these new airlines as direct partners, MOVE users can now access an even wider range of regional and long-haul routes to seamlessly complete their journey within one convenient app.
“We are witnessing a significant shift in demand as travelers seek more flight options, and we are happy to work directly with more airlines to provide exactly that,” said Nadia Omer, Chief Executive Officer of MOVE.
“A significant observation is that Vietnam has emerged as a standout market, recording 25 percent growth in seats sold year-on-year, reflecting the successful penetration and growing appeal of multi-carrier options on MOVE,
“Together, we are building a stronger ecosystem that empowers travelers with more choice while supporting our airline partners’ growth across key markets,” she added.
Ethiopian Airlines, Vietjet Air and Garuda Indonesia joined 70 other notable global carriers who partnered directly with MOVE.
Complementing these direct partnerships, MOVE also has a selection of about 700 other airlines through its authorized suppliers for travelers to choose from.
Beyond flights, the platform offers access to 1 million+ hotels, airport transfers, online duty-free shopping, travel insurance and more.
AirAsia MOVE’s revenue eases to $27.13M in third quarter on softer flight volumes
