Global financial services firm Robinhood Markets, Inc. has entered into agreements to acquire PT Buana Capital Sekuritas, an Indonesian brokerage, and PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, a licensed Indonesian digital financial asset trader.

These acquisitions will mark Robinhood’s entry into Indonesia, accelerating our expansion across Southeast Asia and globally, Robinhood said in a statement last Sunday.

With more than 19 million capital market investors and 17 million crypto investors, Robinhood opined that Indonesia is a compelling market for equities and crypto trading.

“Indonesia represents a fast-growing market for trading, making it an exciting place to further Robinhood’s mission to democratize finance for all,

“We look forward to bringing Indonesians the same innovative services that have earned the trust of Robinhood customers globally,” said Patrick Chan, Head of Asia at Robinhood.

Pieter Tanuri, the majority owner of Buana Capital and PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, will stay on as a strategic advisor to Robinhood.

“Following the acquisition of Buana Capital, we’ll continue to serve its brokerage customers with Indonesian financial products,

”Over time, we hope to also offer Robinhood brokerage and crypto trading products and connect Indonesian customers to US equities, cryptocurrencies, and more at scale,” added Chan.

Each acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval from the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, OJK) and other regulatory approvals, and both are expected to close in the first half of 2026.
