Vietnamese electric vehicle carmaker VinFast has on last Sunday unveiled its EB 8 and EB 12 electric bus models at Busworld Europe 2025.
The firm said in a statement that with the introduction of these two modern and intelligent public transport solutions, it reaffirms its determination to make electric mobility accessible to everyone, expanding its presence from private passenger vehicles into the vital public transportation sector.
Both VinFast buses is currently scheduled for delivery and commercial operation from 2026.
With these two new product lines, VinFast said it will pursue strategic partnerships to establish a distribution network for its electric buses in key markets such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden as well as the CEE and Baltic regions.
This move is a strategic milestone that diversifies VinFasts product offerings and positions the Vietnamese electric vehicle brand within the global e-mobility landscape.
The full-size 12-meter city bus, EB 12, already adheres to UNECE and CE regulations and is available to order in Europe.
The smaller, 8-meter EB 8 will follow at a later date, and both models will be protected by comprehensive unlimited mileage warranties.
The EB 8 and EB 12, developed with smart technology from Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has already proven its capabilities in the domestic market.
Both advanced models are engineered using a philosophy that optimizes performance and range, passenger comfort, pricing, and safety.
They integrate a comprehensive array of advanced safety and driver assistance technologies, ensuring an ultimately secure and peaceful experience for passengers, operators, and vulnerable road users on every route.
The VinFast EB 8 is designed for optimal efficiency and agility on urban roads. It features compact dimensions (L x W x H: 8,610 x 2,470 x 3,220 mm) and a robust central electric motor delivering a maximum output of 200 kW, enabling a top speed capped at 80 km/h.
Utilizing a 359 kWh battery, the EB 8 achieves an operational range of over 290 km on a single charge, exceeding the typical daily requirements of buses of this size.
It supports 120 kW fast charging, effectively maximizing operational uptime and schedule efficiency.
The EB 8 is configured to accommodate up to 60 passengers.
Meanwhile, the VinFast EB 12 is a full-size 12-meter city bus with a footprint measuring L x W x H: 12,110 x 2,550 x 3,330 mm, a 5,900 mm wheelbase, and a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 19,200 kg.
Its low-floor, 3-door configuration is designed for rapid, seamless passenger movement.
The EB 12 is capable of serving up to 90 passengers, and can be tailored to meet individual customer requirements.
The EB 12 is equipped with powerful twin 125 kW wheelhub electric motors that deliver a combined maximum power output of 250 kW, with a top speed of 80 km/h.
Its 422 kWh battery has been optimized for performance, charging and cost, delivering an operational range of over 400 km per charge thanks to efficient regenerative braking technologies.
VinFast said the firm already protects its passenger vehicle customers with industry-leading warranty cover, and it aims to mirror this commitment in the eBus market.
EB 12 is now available to order and will be manufactured in a state-of-the-art production facility in Vietnam that operates with a capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles per year.

To demonstrate its eBus infrastructure and technologies prior to its European launch, VinFast said it has successfully built and operated a complete electric bus ecosystem in Vietnam.
This includes manufacturing, operation, and maintenance, rapidly rolling out a decarbonized public transport network that accessible across major Vietnamese cities.
In the European market, VinFast has already introduced the VF 6 in the B-segment and the VF 8 in the D-segment electric SUV lineup, accompanied by highly attractive sales and after-sales policies that align closely with its customer-centric philosophy.
