Indonesia’s largest private hospital network Siloam Hospitals is accelerating digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven innovation with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud.

Siloam Hospitals said in a statement on Tuesday that it has migrated its mission-critical workloads, including hospital information systems, electronic medical records, billing platforms, and the MySiloam digital app, to AWS cloud.

This move has standardized operations, enabled real-time data access, improved system resilience, and created a foundation for AI innovation at scale.

Key AWS services underpinning this transformation include Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) for core app deployment with auto-scaling and CI/CD orchestration, Amazon RDS Aurora and Amazon ElastiCache for high-performance, secure, and resilient data processing, and Amazon EventBridge to streamline communication across Siloam’s microservices using event-driven architecture.

With this robust infrastructure, Siloam has already deployed two impactful AI-powered solutions: Auto-Summarization of Medical Records (assists doctors by generating concise, structured notes from clinical interactions, improving documentation efficiency and accuracy), and AI for Inventory Management (leverages AI to automate data capture in inventory processes for improved efficiency).

These applications reflect Siloam’s broader vision to responsibly integrate AI into healthcare operations.

Looking ahead, the organization is exploring additional opportunities in areas such as operational forecasting, patient engagement, and clinical decision support—always with the intent to improve service quality and system performance.

“Digital transformation is not just about systems, it’s about impact. With AWS, we are reimagining how healthcare works in Indonesia,

“We’re giving time back to our doctors, clarity to our decisions, and better outcomes for our patients. This is what modern healthcare should look like,” said Caroline Riady, Chief Executive Officer of Siloam Hospitals Group.

Beyond AI, Siloam’s modernization is supported by AWS services such as AWS Lambda, which enables serverless backend automation, AWS Backup for centralized, compliant data protection, and AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) to ensure rapid, cost-efficient business continuity across its hospital network.

By decommissioning legacy infrastructure and consolidating onto AWS Cloud, Siloam has also aligned its operations with long-term sustainability goals, lowering energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions, and optimizing information technology (IT) investments.

“At AWS, our priority is helping organizations like Siloam Hospitals harness the power of the cloud and generative AI to modernize operations, drive innovation, and ultimately deliver better outcomes for the communities they serve,

“We’re proud to support Siloam’s leadership in Indonesia’s healthcare sector as they build a digital-first, AI-enabled healthcare system designed to improve patient care at a national scale,” said Anthony Amni, Country Manager, AWS Indonesia.
