Real-time location sharing app iSharing said Tuesday that it has secured 40,000 daily users in Malaysia amid growing child and elderly safety awareness.
The firm said in a statement on Tuesday that it is ramping up its presence across Southeast Asia with a renewed focus on Malaysia, as awareness around child and elderly safety continues to grow among local families.
As more families seek reliable ways to stay connected and ensure the well-being of their loved ones, it noted digital safety tools like iSharing have become an increasingly important part of daily life, from monitoring children’s school commutes to checking in on elderly parents, for greater peace of mind.
Founded in 2010, iSharing has become a household name in key markets such as South Korea, with over 808K daily users, Japan, with over 470,000 daily users and the United States, with over 145,000 daily users.
In Malaysia alone, the app now records over 40,000 daily users, reflecting its growing relevance as a trusted app for families to stay close, even when apart.
“We have seen a growing demand for real-time location sharing tools across Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia, where families are increasingly prioritizing the safety of their loved ones,
“The growing number of missing children and elderly individuals is a serious concern, and it reinforces the need for tools that offer peace of mind,” Yongjae Chuh, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of iSharingSoft.
“ISharing helps ease that worry by sending instant updates and alerts, allowing families to stay connected and respond quickly in times of need,
“Our growth in markets like South Korea, Japan and now Malaysia shows that this need to feel close and safe is truly universal,” he added.
According to the statement, Malaysia is seeing heightened concerns over the safety of vulnerable groups, particularly children and the elderly.
Cited the Royal Malaysia Police, it said a large number of children have gone missing in Malaysia, where almost 14,000 children have been reported missing since 2014.
At the same time, Malaysia has also seen a growing number of cases involving elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia, going missing.
The Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) estimates that between 204,000 and 264,000 Malaysians were living with dementia requiring full-time care in 2020, and the number is projected to more than triple by 2050 as the country becomes an aging nation.
These statistics highlight the urgent need for accessible, real-time tracking tools that help families care for their loved ones more effectively.
This rising need is also reflected in the country’s indoor positioning and tracking system market, where it is projected to reach $19.5 billion by 2033, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.4 percent from 2026 to 2033.
As of 2025, iSharing recorded a 182.32 per cent year-over-year increase in user acquisition and a 194.36 percent rise in App Store downloads, reflecting global demand for reliable family safety solutions.
With user safety and experience at the core of its innovation, iSharing aims to become a trusted app for families seeking greater security, connectivity and contentment in an increasingly fast-paced world.
