Zeekr, the China-based premium new energy vehicle group, has appointed Carro as its latest authorized dealer in Malaysia.

The duo said in a statement on Monday that Zeekr is committed to driving the future of transportation with cutting-edge technology, and this latest appointment reflects its strong commitment in ensuring customers are able to easily access and own an electric vehicle (EV).

Both companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Carro’s flagship store in Puchong, Malaysia on Monday.

“The positive response we have received from the Malaysian market over the past few months reflects the growing appreciation for Zeekr’s premium electric vehicles,” said Alex Bao, Managing Director of Zeekr Southeast Asia.

According to him, this momentum reinforces the firm’s commitment to expanding our presence in Malaysia, and its partnership with Carro represents a significant milestone in that direction — enhancing both its sales network and after-sales capabilities to better support its customers.

“This collaboration also aligns with our broader business strategy as we prepare for the introduction of our next important model, the Zeekr 7X,“ he added.

Carro is Asia Pacific’s largest online automotive marketplace and Malaysia’s leading used car platform.

This collaboration marks yet another significant milestone for the automotive unicorn, as the firm expands to brand new car sales in another market.

Earlier in March 2025, Carro in Singapore started selling parallel- imported cars which are supported by in-house warranties and aftersales services by Carro Care, as well as in-house financing by Genie FInancial Services.

“This is a really exciting step for us, as we offer even more automotive options to our customers in Malaysia,

“We’re seeing a growing market in Malaysia for hybrid and electric vehicles, with developing infrastructure and tax exemptions in place, and we’re ready to provide these services to Malaysians who are keen to make the switch to EVs,” said Fong Hon Sum, Chief Executive Officer of International Marketplace at Carro.

He said the firm’s expertise within the EV sector has it well-placed to handle inspections, repairs, and maintenance, and the firm is so excited to have Zeekr as its partner.

It is noted that Zeekr car owners can look forward to greater accessibility and convenience within the EV sector in the long run, as they look forward to the standard dealer
warranty, plus access to a full suite of end-to-end Carro services, including financing, aftersales and insurance services with Genie Financial Services, Carro Care and Coverro respectively.

There are currently three showrooms, known as Zeekr Space, located in Petaling Jaya and IOI Mall Puchong.

There are also plans to open up four new Zeekr Space showrooms (in Juru Autocity, Klang Valley and Seremban) and three new authoriszd Carro Care workshops, in partnership with Carro.

Zeekr set foot in Malaysia in December 2024, marking its debut with two models: the 009 MPV and the X model SUV.

These two premium vehicles are celebrated for their EV technologies, spaciousness and exceptional user experience.

Zeekr, headquartered in Zhejiang, China, is a premium new energy vehicle group from Geely Holding Group.

With two brands, Lynk & Co and Zeekr, Zeekr aims to create a fully integrated user ecosystem with innovation as a standard.

Utilizing its state-of-the-art facilities and world-class expertise, Zeekr is developing its own software systems, e-powertrain and electric vehicle supply chain.

Founded in 2015, Carro has raised over S$700 million ($546 million) from Softbank Vision Fund and several sovereign funds.
