PRO-NET, a subsidiary of Malaysia’s national car maker Proton, announced Monday the delivery of its 1,000th unit of the e.MAS 7, the brand’s first-ever electric vehicle (EV).
This milestone reflects the rapid acceleration of EV adoption in Malaysia and Proton’s commitment to making electric mobility accessible to all, Proton said in a statement.
According to the statement, the overwhelming response to the e.MAS 7 is a testament to the trust Malaysians have placed in Proton’s vision for sustainable mobility.
Since its launch by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the e.MAS 7 has gained traction among diverse customer segments, demonstrating the growing confidence in EVs as a practical and future-forward choice.
PRO-NET’s success extends beyond delivering vehicles but ensuring a seamless transition to EV ownership.
The e.MAS 7’s strong appeal lies in its combination of affordability, practicality, and a well-developed ecosystem that supports users throughout their EV journey, said the statement.
“The success of the e.MAS 7 is a reflection of our commitment to providing a compelling EV proposition that aligns with the needs of Malaysian consumers,
“Our goal is not just to sell cars but to foster a complete ecosystem that ensures a seamless and confident transition to electric mobility,” said Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET.
With over 4,500 bookings secured and strong demand continuing, PRO-NET is confident in reaching 6,000 bookings soon—especially with the extension of the special launch power package, which provides exclusive pricing to early adopters.
The e.MAS 7 has also captured a significant 25 percent share of the local EV market, reinforcing its position as a leader in Malaysia’s growing EV segment.
This further cementing its position that more Malaysians are willing to embrace EVs when provided with an accessible and well-supported ownership experience.
It is noted that more Malaysians now recognize the importance of transitioning to EVs – not just for sustainability, but also for practicality in their daily lives.
The e.MAS 7 has proven to be a seamless fit for various lifestyles, offering value-for-money, spaciousness, and advanced driver-assist features, said the statement.
As awareness and infrastructure improve, the shift towards electric mobility continues to gain momentum, reinforcing a future of sustainable and intelligent driving, it added.
Proton e.MAS is Malaysia’s pioneering national electric vehicle and new energy brand, a sub-brand of PROTON and distributed by PRO-NET.
The EV was unveiled on 12 June last year.
