Pi-xcels, an interactive e-receipt technology firm, announced Tuesday the completion of its second funding round, securing $2.7 million in investment.
This latest round was led by Headline, with continued participation from existing backers such as Wavemaker Partners, Hustle Fund, and various angel investors, alongside new strategic investors including Shizen Capital and Seedstars International Ventures, the company said in a statement.
This funding round builds on the momentum of Pi-xcels’ successful seed round, where the company raised $1.7 million. Since then, Pi-xcels has achieved significant milestones, forging alliances with global partners and integrating with major global payment leaders like Ingenico, Pax, Newland, and Castles. The company has also expanded its presence in key markets, including Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
Pi-xcels said it is leading a transformation in retail transactions with its app-less, NFC-enabled e-receipt technology, which provides merchants with a powerful way to enhance customer experiences and gain valuable insights.
The company’s frictionless solution allows customers to receive digital receipts with a simple tap, offering a seamless and engaging alternative to traditional receipts.
With the new capital raised, Pi-xcels will accelerate its global expansion by strengthening its footprint in Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, and venturing into the US market. The funds will also support the company’s efforts to expand partnerships and enhance its proprietary NFC-based technology.
With rising demand, Pi-xcels is focused on scaling its solution, safeguarding its technology, growing its team, and building strategic partnerships. These efforts aim to establish a new industry benchmark for digital receipts in retail.
The second round also signals strong investor confidence in Pi-xcels’ innovative approach and its potential to drive significant industry change. Akio Tanaka, Founding Partner at Headline Asia said, “Pi-xcels is pioneering a global shift in retail tech, transforming what was once a basic transaction into a meaningful touchpoint.
With a proven track record across Asia and sights set on Europe and the US, Pi-xcels has built a flexible model for rapid international expansion—an ideal match for Headline Asia’s mission to support scalable solutions that address real-world challenges on a global stage.”
Jackson Loo, Principal at Headline Asia added, “By being the software layer on top of payment terminals, Pi-xcels is set up for global distribution from day 1. E-receipts are just the tip of the iceberg.”
With plans to expand its partnerships and continue refining its proprietary NFC-based technology, Pi-xcels is well-positioned to lead the retail industry’s transition towards a paperless, data-enriched future
