Princeton Digital Group (PDG), Singapore-headquartered data center provider, has announced that it has acquired powered land for 500 MW capacity expansion in key markets across Asia.

The firm said in a statement on last Thursday that the 500 MW of land and power in Malaysia, India and Indonesia, further deepens the company’s strategic partnership with hyperscalers for their artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure expansion and will drive a $5 billion investment program for PDG.

The 500 MW capacity is across Mumbai, Chennai, Johor and Jakarta, occupying over 88 acres.

PDG’s flagship Mumbai data center MU1 will become a 150 MW campus with the addition of 100 MW.

With a new 72 MW campus in Chennai, the company’s footprint in India will increase to 230 MW.

Johor will become a 370 MW region for PDG with the addition of 200 MW. The expansion also includes a 100 MW site in Jakarta.

These would become among the largest AI-ready campuses in those regions, solidifying PDG’s position as a market leader in Asia.

“Over the last 18 months, AI has completely transformed the data center landscape. First, we saw the sharp rise in demand in North America, followed by the initial wave of AI-driven demand in Asia,

“PDG has been a major beneficiary of this initial surge as a result of our deep engagement with hyperscalers, proven track record of execution and data center footprint,” said Rangu Salgame, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of PDG.

In anticipation of the continued growth of AI demand, and driven by the strategic needs of our customers, he said the firm has now acquired a further 500 MW of powered land and expansion footprint.

“This capacity is in locations where we have already proven our ability to deliver,

“By securing access and roadmap to full power in these locations, we continue to be positioned to meet the Pan Asia customer demand for scalable, AI-ready data center capacity built by an experienced, world-class team,” he added.

PDG has a pan-Asia data center portfolio in six countries – Singapore, Japan, India, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia.

The company serves AI and cloud needs of the world’s largest technology companies across all these markets.
