EMURGO, a Japanese blockchain company that drives Web3 adoption via the Cardano blockchain, has on Thursday announced a partnership with Huawei Cloud to extend support for a Cardano Validator Node on the Huawei Cloud, further strengthening the Cardano network.

As a strategic partner, EMURGO will establish a Cardano Validator Node on Huawei Cloud, bringing Huawei’s cloud infrastructure into Cardano’s open-source public blockchain ecosystem, ultimately driving growth and Web3 adoption in Asia Pacific and Africa, the duo said in a statement.

It is noted that Huawei Cloud, the leading cloud service brand under technology giant Huawei, is one of the world’s largest cloud computing companies.

Through this partnership, Cardano developers will be able to leverage Huawei Cloud’s expansive network and computing resources to build innovative Web3 solutions within the Cardano blockchain.

This collaboration will further enhance the scalability and interoperability of Cardano’s cloud services.

Additionally, Cardano will gain access to Huawei’s Marketplace, a platform used by many leading enterprises, expanding the reach of its Web3 capabilities.

According to the statement, this milestone marks the first step towards a larger collaboration between EMURGO and Huawei as the former expands the Cardano ecosystem in major regional economies across Asia Pacific and Africa.

“We are excited to be partnering with Huawei Cloud, a world-leading cloud stack solution with extensive global reach,

“Marrying Huawei Cloud’s global network with EMURGO’s role as a gateway to the Cardano ecosystem, one of the most distributed blockchain networks in the industry, this collaboration converges the traction of Huawei Cloud’s trusted cloud technology with Cardano’s network of blockchain developers and Web3 solutions,” EMURGO Chief Executive Officer Ken Kodama said.

“This partnership represents our shared vision to accelerate Web3 adoption while enabling transparency and trust in the cloud ecosystem,

“We look forward to working closely with Huawei Cloud to drive mutual growth in Asia Pacific,” he added.

Rex Lei Yang, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Singapore, shared that at Huawei Cloud, they are on a mission to pursue continuous excellence to bolster their position as a market leader of the cloud ecosystem.

“We are energized by the opportunity to collaborate with EMURGO which will provide us with access to an expansive network of Web3 developers and innovative solutions on the Cardano blockchain network,

“This partnership will serve as a springboard for our Web3 services, and will go a long way to future-proof Huawei Cloud’s business in the long run,” he added.

EMURGO is a founding entity of the Cardano blockchain, one of the most distributed blockchains in the industry with more than 3,000 stake pools or validators that secure the Cardano network and provide liquid, delegated staking capabilities for millions of Cardano users.

Established in 2015 in Japan, the firm exists to facilitate commercial growth of the Cardano ecosystem and unlock the full potential of the ecosystem through partnerships, investments, education, and infrastructure development.

The firm has an established network across Africa through the Cardano accelerator, Adaverse, and its regional entity EMURGO Africa, with plans to continuously strengthen its footprint across Asia Pacific beyond its existing presence in Singapore, Indonesia, India, and Japan.

Nodes or stake pools in Cardano participate in securing the network with access being permissionless.

Founded in 1987, Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices.

The firm has 207,000 employees and operates in more than 170 countries and regions.
