China-based artificial intelligence (AI) and speech technology provider IFLYTEK has announced a collaboration with Thailand entertainment technology firm Zense Entertainment and academic institution Chulalongkorn University, to accelerate advancement of Thai speech recognition.
The trio said in a statement on Thursday that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the partnership.
Through this partnership, the aim is to propel the development of cutting-edge Thai speech recognition technology to cover not only its multiple regional dialects but also to mark a significant milestone in the advancement of AI-driven language processing systems tailored specifically for the Thai language.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to optimize iFLYTEK’s Thai speech recognition engine by incorporating Chulalongkorn University’s linguistic insights and research.
This collaboration will enhance the accuracy, fluency, and usability of Thai speech recognition technology up to 95 percent plus accuracy.
Additionally, joining forces with Zense Entertainment as a media partner will strengthen iFLYTEK’s expertise and enable the creation of better AI solutions, empowering customers and partners alike.
This initiative aligns perfectly with iFLYTEK’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that enable seamless interaction with technology in users’ native languages covering 123 languages.
Moreover, as part of iFLYTEK’s AI+media industry solutions, the collaboration will integrate the following cutting-edge features:
1. Smart Real – Time Text and Speech Translation of multiple regional Thai dialects and various languages worldwide, suitable for diverse applications such as international and
local conferences, seminars, and events.
2. Smart Interviewing: A comprehensive recording and transcription system designed specifically for reporters and press conferences.
3. Content Creation: An intelligent content creation platform offering comprehensive support for text, image, and video.
4. Subtitle Generation: Automation tools for post-production editing to streamline workflows.
5. Virtual Anchor: Automatic voice-over broadcasting by virtual anchors for post-production enhancements.

According to him, Chulalongkorn University will provide its academic prowess and linguistic expertise to bolster the collaboration.
