Vietnamese automaker VinFast Auto Ltd. (VinFast) announced Thursday that it has delivered 13,513 units of electric vehicles (EVs) in the fourth quarter of 2023, up 35 percent quarter on quarter.

VinFast said in a statement that the company has delivered a total of 42,291 EVs globally since its first deliveries in 2021 through the end of 2023, including a total of 34,855 EVs in 2023.

“Our 4Q23 saw a jump in vehicle deliveries compared to prior quarters. However, amid economic headwinds, slow EV adoption rate in certain regions has adversely affected deliveries plan,” said Tran Mai Hoa, VinFast’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sales and Marketing.

The company will release its 4Q23 financial results before the market opens on February 22, 2024.
