Gacha Monsters, a Japan-based entertainment and gaming company developing titles for a new generation of gamers, has on Friday announced the completion of a $3 million seed investment round from Animoca Brands, Infinity Ventures Crypto, FBG, and Big Time Games.

Gacha Monsters said in a statement that the firm will use the proceeds for the development and dissemination of immersive intellectual properties across various formats, with several gaming titles rolling out to the mass market.

Gacha Monsters will also be soon announcing its partnership with a renowned intellectual property from Japan with its imminent launch of the partnership’s first game.

In addition, Gacha Monsters has solidified strategic technology partnerships with industry leaders such as Opensea, SUI and Open Loot and integrations with leading chains such as Arbitrum.

These partnerships will enable Gacha Monsters to harness cutting-edge technologies, expanding the company’s reach and capabilities in the Web3 arena.

The recent reveal of the Poglin trailer on X has been warmly received and has garnered over 8,000 retweets since it was posted.

The team plans to have an alpha of the first Poglin game ready in the first quarter of the next year.

“As someone who has been involved in game development for years, I am thrilled by the possibilities of reaching audiences not only with games but also through videos, comics, and the Web3 space,

“Poglin is just the beginning of an exciting journey, the first title in a pipeline of many exciting games,” said Jia Shen, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gacha Monsters.

Gacha Monsters is a visionary media company focused on pioneering the future of entertainment in the web3 landscape.

Combining original intellectual property creation with strategic partnerships and investments, the firm is dedicated to delivering immersive experiences across multiple mediums, including video games, anime, comics, physical merchandise, and the web3 universe.

It is on a mission to redefine entertainment by combining original intellectual property creations and collaborations with established properties, bridging the gap between traditional and interactive entertainment.

The company’s debut self-developed property—Poglin—features a captivating world of six tribes vying for supremacy in the mystical realm of Haven.

It brings titles to life through a multifaceted approach, encompassing video games, anime, comics, physical merchandise, and the exciting world of Web3.

Gacha Monsters is led by an experienced team of game developers, including Jia Shen (Chief Executive Officer), who previously developed titles such as Pokémon Medallion, Disney Tsum Tsum (International Version), Battle Cats Line, and more.

Seeing major shifts in media consumption habits in recent years, Jia Shen was inspired to build an entertainment company that would seamlessly combine original concepts with legacy intellectual properties to create gaming and entertainment products that resonate with gamers from diverse backgrounds, building upon fandom with a wide range of formats beyond the product itself.

“I was impressed by the creativity and dynamism of the team at Gacha Monsters,

“I look forward to how Gacha Monsters will build on the lore and narratives of its debut title Poglin in a Web3 context as well as across multiple media formats,” said Yat Siu, the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands.
