Vow, an Australia-based cultured meat company, has on Monday announced its $49.2 million Series A funding co-led by Blackbird and Prosperity7 Ventures, the diversified growth fund of Aramco Ventures.
In a statement, Vow said the round also saw strong support from Toyota Ventures, Square Peg Capital, Grok Ventures, Cavallo Ventures, Peakbridge, Tenacious Ventures, HostPlus Super, NGS Super and Pavilion Capital.
The funding marks an important milestone for the company as it expands its manufacturing facilities with the construction of Factory 2 and introduces its first product brand, Morsel in Singapore this year.
According to the statement, this funding will be used for future product development, manufacturing expansion, and hiring across new divisions as Vow expands operations and works to disrupt the food industry, planting the seeds for future growth across markets worldwide.
“When Vow was founded, we knew to change the way billions eat we had to do more than recreate what we know,” said Vow Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder George Peppou.

Founded in April 2019, Vow’s mission is to make sustainable food both irresistible and available to billions of people.
Based in Sydney, Australia, the company, comprised of innovators, engineers, scientists, artists and foodies, is making entirely new meat products directly from the cells of animals instead of the animals themselves.
The firm is working on one of the most urgent problems facing this planet: finding a solution to replace animal agriculture with a more sustainable method of food production.

The first Vow-engineered product is landing in market at a restaurant near you very soon.
