VinFast said Tuesday it has won the “Corporate Sustainability Champions” – ORIGIN Innovation Awards 2022.
In addition to recognizing how VinFast’s impacts align with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, the award affirms VinFast’s commitment to “creating a sustainable future for everyone”, VinFast said in a statement.
First held in 2020 by TechNode Global, the ORIGIN Innovation Awards is Asia Pacific (APAC)’s esteemed accolade for tech innovation, which aims to provide recognition to companies that have exemplified the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the running of their businesses.
The theme for the 2022 award is “Sustainable Innovations, Lasting Impacts” inspired by the the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Among the 300 nominations coming from all over the APAC region, VinFast prevailed as the winner of the “Corporate Sustainability Champions” – ORIGIN Innovation Awards 2022.
The award is evaluated based on three main criteria: business impact and value created by the corporate innovation project, sustainable
measurable outputs and impacts that align with the UNSDGs, and the technologies underpinning the corporate innovation.

Previously, VinFast received a climate change-financing package worth $135 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for producing electric buses and a network of charging stations in Vietnam.
