Cake DeFi, the fastest-growing Singapore-based Decentralised Finance (DeFi) platform announced on Tuesday key appointments to its leadership bench from the traditional finance and technology sectors.

The company has appointed Henry Gunawan as Vice President of Compliance, Daniel Lo as General Counsel, and Glenn Huybrecht as Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing their wealth of industry experience to the organisation as it continues to drive robust quarter on quarter growth.

“As we continue to grow our business internationally and work towards providing our customers with more product offerings, we are excited to grow our leadership team to boost our growth and innovation teams. With experts from the traditional finance sectors joining our team, we believe that the next stage of our growth will come from building access to DeFi and Web3 for both consumers and businesses. We are happy to have Henry, Daniel, and Glenn onboard this journey with us,” said Dr Julian Hosp, CEO and Co-Founder of Cake DeFi.

Henry Gunawan, who is now helming the role of Vice President of Compliance, will manage and oversee Cake DeFi’s regulatory relationships, licensing strategy, compliance with laws and regulations, and robust compliance frameworks and programs. Henry, a seasoned industry veteran, was previously working at international payments and banking institutions including Ant Group, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Standard Chartered.

Joining Henry is Daniel Lo, Cake DeFi’s newly appointed general counsel. Previously in various international law firms and in-house in the asset management and private equity space, most notably with UBS, Walkers, Dentons and RBC, Daniel will oversee all legal matters relating to crypto regulation, intellectual property, investments, disputes, operations and corporate governance at Cake DeFi.

Glenn Huybrecht joins the Cake DeFi team as Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer, bringing with him 18 years of experience xin consulting, manufacturing, and tech. He was heading up a global team in charge of all sales-related professional service outsourcing at LinkedIn for more than seven years. Glenn will head the operations team at Cake DeFi, which includes HR, client and wallet fund management, as well as Operations Intelligence.
