AC Ventures(ACV), an early-stage Indonesia-focused Venture Capital firm, said Wednesday it has appointed Alan Hellawell as Senior Advisor and Venture Partner.

Alan will bring to bear deep technology industry experience to support ACV’s portfolio companies in areas such as value creation, advisory, and strategic introductions; as well as apply his expertise in sector research to further reinforce the firm’s thematic investment approach, ACV said in a statement.

According to the statement, Alan is a technology finance professional with more than 20 years of experience with Asian startups. He has worked with many of the region’s leading tech companies, helping them from the early startup stage through initial public offering (IPO) and beyond. He is also the Founder and host of the region’s leading technology podcast, Indo Tekno, which has over 85 episodes featuring successful Indonesian entrepreneurs.

AC Ventures and Alan have had a long working relationship. Alan’s familiarity with Adrian Li began when he led a successful limited partner (LP) investment into the fund in 2018. Alan also worked extensively with Pandu Sjahrir (Founding Partner, AC Ventures) as a fellow member of the leadership of Sea Ltd when Alan was the company’s Chief Strategy Officer. Adrian, Pandu, and Helen Wong have all been featured on Indo Tekno discussing Indonesia’s technology ecosystem.
