TechNode Global is looking for an Editor-in-Chief to join its digital newsroom to provide insights and in-depth journalism shaping the Asia technology scene.
We are a fairly small company who seek to emulate the companies and people we write about. We believe in cultivating a sense of ownership in all our employees, giving them the support, resources, and autonomy to bring their vision to life.

About you

  • Based in SEA. Have at least 5 years’ experience as an editor with other publications and media platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or a similar subject
  • Strong editorial judgment and native-level English proficiency
  • Demonstrate strong interest and curiosity in the tech industry
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in delivery of content
  • Have existing professional and personal of local & regional contacts to leverage on in order to deliver content that is credible based on accurate sentiments on the ground
  • You are passionate about writing and able to motivate a team. You stress ethical and professional journalism, showing respect for our sources, the companies we cover, and other stakeholders
  • You possess business acumen and ability to understand the overall big picture of the business

What you’ll do

The Editor-in-Chief plays a key and integral part of TechNode Global expansion strategy. The ideal candidate will manage and oversee the editorial direction and strategy for TechNode Global. This includes reviewing all content produced, developing content strategies and style guidelines, managing editorial team, making strategic business decisions, and representing the company at events.
We are a growing team so you’ll likely get involved in a little bit of everything, but here are some of the main things you’ll be doing:

  1. Determine the editorial guidelines and enforcing parameters and policies regarding all publications and contents
  2. Lead and manage editorial team. Assign and edit stories, with a focus on maintaining accuracy, quality, and timeliness
  3. Review all content for accuracy and appropriateness
  4. Manage the financial aspects of TechNode Global’s media. This includes drawing up budget proposals and setting media sales KPI
  5. Build up personal and professional contacts across the industry to arrange for exclusive interviews and scoops
  6. Working alongside other team members to create content for our clients
  7. Sourcing, pitching, and writing stories about SEA’s technology and startup ecosystems
  8. Ensure technode.global website updated with fresh content daily
  9. Produce high quality & independent interviews & research content
